Understanding Human Rights & Evaluation and Summary of the course
This Human Rights Assignment has two parts and questions + Summary.
Type the number of the question and then write your answer. Write one essay where are all the answers (and questions).
Two pages is the minimum and three maximum. Return the essay to the Return Box by the latest 11.8.2019.
PART I: Read the following two articles and answer the question 1.
Short Summary: "Human Rights Education for Health and Soscial Professionals: An Itroduction." Written by Ilsa Lottes. Number one in left margin.
"Health and Social Work Professionals as Human Rights Workers" by Ilsa Lottes. This is available in both English (number 2) and Finnish (number 3). This reading summarizes information about human rights.
Question 1.:
Summarize in a few sentences what you learned.
Then add what you believe is most important to know from those readings.
Third tell what part was most difficult to understand.
PART II: Read one of these three texts and answer the question 2.
I understand that those in this professional ethics course have a background in health care provision, social work, or health promotion. Thus, I have tried to make the next information apply to your general occupation.
If you are a heath provider read The Revised 2012 International Council of Nurses (ICN) Code of Ethics for Nurses (number 4) and Tables 1, 2, and 3 from a 2013 article in the journal Health and Human Rights (number 5).
If you are in health promotion, read the " The CompHP Core Competencies Framework for Health Promotion, Short Version" 2011 (number 6).
If you are in social work, read the information below about ethics and human rights from the web site of the "International Federation of Social Workers" (number 7) and the book for social workers "An Exercise Book Understanding Human Rights" by E. Reichert (number 8).
Question 2.
Discuss/tell me three ways that principles of human rights and professional ethics are similar.
Discuss/tell me one way you think human rights are different from ethical principles.
Some in your professions believe that it is critical to integrate human rights training for health and social workers at all levels. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give a reason for your answer.

THE END - Summary of the Course
Write a conclusion or a summary (about 1-2 pages) of the cource to yourself. Read and recall your essays, study materials and discussions you and your fellow students have generated during the past months.
The aim of the summary is to help you to make better ethical decisions in the furure.
Please answer and discuss at least some the following questions in your summary in the order listed below.
